Description
- A 17th-century monastic work that preserves a Baroque depiction of Our Lady of Consolation (Muttergottes vom Troste) in a richly decorated bismuth frame. The composition is surrounded by hand-molded wax ornaments and delicate textile inlays, and the frame contains relics of several holy martyrs, marked with inscribed paper strips. It is an exceptional, representative ecclesiastical artwork from the realm of 18th-century monastic art.
